What is The Mindful Empath and how is it connected to Bearly Zen?

I produced a podcast called Empathy & for 2 years from 2019 to 2020. I created Mindful Empath, LLC during the pandemic to continue that work and use as the “parent” organization for the endeavors that might follow. I decided, after my additional training in mindfulness and workplace facilitation, that I would use Bearly Zen as the name for the coaching and consultation business. You will find those two names used all throughout my work and website.

So you’re an empath, what does that even mean?

Yes, and so are you.
One of the more fascinating things I’ve learned in my education and research is the neuroscience behind empathy. It is not a “special” trait, but one that comes with our (human) factory settings. We don’t all exhibit empathy in the same way though, due to our neurodiverse nature. If you are interested in more on this topic please check out my Empathy & podcast. You can find it on any podcast service as well as on my Substack.

What do mindfulness and empathy have to do with each other?

In short, I believe that our understanding of our personal emotional landscape makes us more understanding of others. The more we are able to sit with, manage, and grow through our own emotional challenges; the better listeners, communicators, and problem solvers we can be! Mindfulness is an invaluable tool and process for self discovery and emotional regulation.

But you talk about Tarot a lot so you’re pretty woo woo, aren’t you?

Guilty as charged. Yes, I can lean into esoteric conversations pretty well. That being said I am NOT a Tarot practitioner. I do not read tarot for others. I use it in my daily (mostly) mindfulness practice and can teach others how to use it in a similar fashion. Just to be clear, in my Workplace Mindfulness sessions I do not use Tarot as a tool. I will use it in individual or group sessions if requested.
